The Grizzly Guru is a vaporizer made and manufactured by Grizzly Originals, a company that’s a subsidiary of Namaste Vaporizers which operates world-wide. The Grizzly Guru is just one of the flew flagship devices released under Grizzly Originals. Having sufficient knowledge behind vaporizers, Grizzly Originals is placed in a better position to design and engineer devices that ticks the boxes actual consumers are on the lookout for. That said, the Grizzly Guru has been endowed with a beefy battery that packs this multi-functional device with 5200mAh of power. It uses two 2600mAh batteries which gives it a hefty amount of power to vaporize your choice materials. And it’s going to need all the power it can get because the Grizzly Guru has been designed and engineered to vaporizer a wide variety of materials including traditional ones like ground botanical plant matter as well as more recent derivatives like wax concentrates as well as flavored e-juices. This makes the Grizzly Guru a practical device as it offers the functionalities of three devices with just the price of one. And because the Grizzly Guru was designed to vaporize a wide variety of materials, it also needs to have a wide temperature range to back it up. That said, it’s outfitted with precision temperature controls allowing you to reach the highest of highs and the lowest of lows to reap all the benefits your select wax, herb, and e-juice materials have to offer. The Grizzly Guru also uses the power of conduction to maximize the power supplied by the battery. It’s a great device to have with you whether you’re vaping or dabbing at home or for when you need to take your sessions with you when you’re out and about. The houses all the technology it has to offer in a large and durable body that looks and feels like it can take a beating.
And for that very reason, the Grizzly Guru may not appeal to all types of consumers. The increased battery capacity makes the Grizzly Guru’s body large and bulky. Plus, with two 2600mAh batteries packed under the hood, the Grizzly Guru carries substantial weight. Those who like to be stealthy and discreet with their sessions might not be able to handle carrying the Grizzly Guru around with the added mass. Furthermore, the Grizzly Guru requires a few more steps with a few more components to switch in between materials. What feels like field stripping a Glock might not be ideal for when you want to switch from herbs, to wax, to juice. Taking a few extra steps and spending more time removing and replacing parts makes using a portable device a lot more complicated than it should be. And let’s not get started about using a proprietary charger and not being able to use standard micro-USB cables to juice up the Grizzly Guru. If you’re still on the fence about investing in the Grizzly Guru for the same reasons, this review is for you. We’re glad you’re here because we’ll talk about the Grizzly Guru’s relevant features to help you make a better decision before you throw in some money on this device. We’ll look at some of the advantages and the disadvantages of owning the Grizzly Guru. We’ll also let you in on some real-life pros and cons of using the Grizzly Guru on the daily or as an occasional vaporizer for when you’re away from your main rig. So, let’s not waste any time and get right on with the review.
We must admit, we have to give it to Grizzly Originals for coming up with a unique concept of using a multi-purpose vaporizer and making it work. The uses a battery similar to a box mod with grooves found right above it where you can slide the attachments for wax and oil and for dry herbs instead of having to screw every atomizer in it. The good thing about it is that the ovens and the heating elements used for each material gives you a more personal experience instead of feeling like cooking up different materials in the same stove. This does not only help preserve the flavors but also help maintain the cleanliness and the longevity of each heating element because mixing up herbs, wax, and oil in the same vat gathers more residual deposits and before you know it, your atomizers are chazzed and it’s just too hard to get it out that the easiest way out is to replace it. Because of this innovative design, you just slide the bases in and out. But this is where it also gets tricky. The dry herb attachment uses only one chamber to hold herbs and even comes with a funnel you can use to load your ground botanicals without the unnecessary mess. On the other hand, the wax and oil attachment come with two other attachments. When using wax concentrates, you have to seat the wax attachment and replace it with the e-juice tank when using e-juice. It may be simple enough for experienced vapers but beginners’ minds will explode from the overload of information. It may all be too much too sudden which makes the Grizzly Guru more of a viable option for advanced and experienced users. Moreover, it’s the experienced veterans who will most likely have the appetite to consume both dry herb strains, its waxy variants, and a little flavored e-juice on the side. Having more parts means more components to worry about which makes the Grizzly Guru a little less appealing for beginners.
The ability of the Grizzly Guru to accommodate to a wide range of materials do come at a price and that price is convenience. Because of that, we felt that it was more useful for a home set up and allowed us to consume a wide variety of herbs and extracts as we moved freely in the office and at home. We didn’t want to get caught tinkering with its components when we’re out and about. However, if you don’t mind stopping a minute to fix your device every now and then, the Grizzly Guru might be a good choice.
The Grizzly Guru uses precision temperature settings that allow it to switch between various temperature profiles so you can expose your materials to the right temperature levels so you can optimize your sessions. The temperature settings even change when you swap out the attachments. When in herb mode, the Grizzly Guru’s offers a wide temperature range that can be read in °F or °C. When in wax and in oil mode, the Grizzly Guru reads in voltage settings. In both modes, the lower settings allow for the extraction of the more delicate components from your materials including the terpenes and the flavonoids in wax and herbs, which makes for a flavorful experience when using the Grizzly Guru either as a recreational device or as a tool to medicate. The higher temperature levels, on the other hand, induce potent vapors that harness the psychoactive compounds in your herbs and wax concentrates while it makes the vapor dense and viscous when using flavored e-juices. This gives you the liberty and the ability to control your sessions however you want it to be. This way, you can really personalize and customize your experience making the Grizzly Guru a great device for experienced consumers who have developed a certain liking towards a particular effect. However, beginners may be intimidated by the precision temperature settings the Grizzly Guru has to offer. That’s because it takes some level of knowledge of cannabinoids and their boiling point. That’s why beginners typically go with vaporizers that only have single heat settings or preset temperature profiles to make their experience easy and straightforward.
Saying that the Grizzly Guru’s battery is capable is probably an understatement. The battery is beefy and powerful enough to give you an average run time of 3 hours making it one of the longest lasting portable vaporizer batteries we’ve used so far. Other devices typically last an hour or maybe an hour and a half but the Grizzly Guru doubles the run time allowing you to enjoy more of the things you like rather than to sit at home waiting for the battery to charge. And while the Grizzly Guru takes several hours to charge, it compensates by giving you relatively long sessions in between charges. The only downside to these batteries is that they use proprietary chargers and you will have to bring the charger around with you if you plan to recharge the Grizzly Guru a couple of times in the day. You won’t be able to use the same charger for your phone or your laptop like you would with other modern devices and you would have to carry around a larger and rather heavier charger.
Overall, the Grizzly Guru can make for a great vaporizer for beginners who are willing to take some time learning the device and take on a slight learning curve. However, it would suit more experienced consumers who can use the Grizzly Guru as soon as they pick it up.
